Holiday in a historical monument, with all the necessary comfort

This detached holiday house is in the village Höfen, at the heart of the Eifel National Park. The short distance to the historical old town of Monschau, the lake Rursee and the Hoher Venn make its loction a great starting point for interesting trips.

The terrace next to the house has garden furniture. There is also a charcoal grill. Plenty of free parking spaces are available in front of the house or on the ca. 1100m² site in front of the house, where you can also enjoy sports (badminton, boules etc.) or simply lie lazily in the sun. Pets are allowed for a fee.

The house itself dates back to the 17th century and is listed. It was tastefully and carefully renovated and furnished at the beginning of 2016 to ecological standards (use of loam rendering etc.). It provides ample space for ten people and is therefore ideal for large groups or families. The ground floor has a living room with a comfortable corner sofa, a coffee table, a large satellite TV with a DVD player, a fireplace and a little table with two chairs. There is another satellite TV in a room that makes a good children’s room. The kitchen and dining space is equipped with an oven, a ceramic hob, two fridges, a dishwasher, a kettle, a filter coffee machine and a dining table. Each of the two floors has a bathroom with a shower, toilet and washbasin. There are also two separated guest WCs in the bathrooms. One of the bathrooms also provides a hairdryer and an infrared sauna (free use). The house has five bedrooms in total. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with a French bed (140cm wide), the third has a double bed (180cm wide), the fourth has a bunk bed, while the fifth has two single beds (90cm wide). The owner can provide a highchair free of charge. All the rooms have heating. There is an Internet connection via WLAN.

Shops such as Aldi, DM, Lidl, Real and Netto are a few minutes away by car. The village itself has a little supermarket within walking distance, with fresh bread, fruit, vegetables, drinks etc. You can also find a bakery and three restaurants, including a good steakhouse and the lovely modern and light bistro ‘Zur Alten Molkerei’, directly adjoining the national park gate. There is also a snack bar. Various hiking and cycling paths such as the Eifelsteig and the Monschauer Heckenland route run past near the house. The quaint little cloth-maker town Monschau is a half-hour’s walk away.

    “Hier en daar wat aanpassingen nodig. Kleine doucheruimte was wel heel klein. Wat interieuraanpassingen zouden welkom zijn. Bijv. licht boven eettafel, goed sluitende voordeur, beschrijving van inductie en oven.”

    “Wat een heerlijk sfeervolle verblijf hebben wij genoten, Super.

    Pro:
    We hebben gewoon van begin tot het eind genoten, van het verblijf en de omgeving.

    Contra:
    Enkeld dat de weg erlangs niet druk was maar het verkeer wat er langs kwam reed wel erg snel.”

    “Prachtig historisch huis.

    Pro:
    Een heerlijk huis voorzien van alle gemakken. Voldoende ruimte voor meerdere personen. Ook gezinnen met kinderen kunnen er goed vertoeven, met een speelkamer en het grote grasveld aan de overzijde. Ga hier zeker terug komen, ook gezien de centrale ligging.

    Contra:
    Wat wij wat minder vonden waren de douches, deze zouden wel wat nieuwe kitranden kunnen gebruiken, heeft een frissere uitstraling.”

    “Einfach perfekt!.

    Pro:
    Das Haus hat einen ganz besonderen Charme, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Wir haben rein gar nichts zu bemängeln, begonnen mit unkompliziertem Checkin, sehr freundlichem Vermieter, perfekte, große Parkmöglichkeit direkt am Haus, Wohlfühlfaktor im Haus perfekt. Wir haben ein Wochenende dort verbracht, um unter anderem den Monschauer Weihnachtsmarkt zu besuchen. Ein gut organisierter Park and Ride Service verbindet Höfen mit Monschau.
    Es war der erste, aber garantiert nicht letzte Besuch in diesem gemütlichen Schmuckstück, das wirklich reichlich Platz für 10 Personen bietet.

    Contra:
    Rein gar nichts!.”
