Halteweidli is a 200m2, 6-bedroom chalet in Aeschi bei Spiez that can hold up to 16 people, in the heart of the Bernese Oberland. The chalet is south facing, with two sunny terraces and a 1500m2 garden, breathtaking views the length of the Kandertal, and, from the North side, of the Thunersee. It is right on the cross country trails, and about one km from the local downhill pistes. Being just a 30min drive from Wengen, Kandersteg, Grindelweg, Adelboden, Gstaad and Lautebrunnen, it is ideal for those that like challenging and varied skiing. It is very secluded at the end of a private lane (which is cleared by the commune!), with our nearest neighbour some 400m away, on the edge of the Suldtal nature reserve. It isn’t rare to see deer next to the chalet while you have your morning coffee! It is 2 hours door-to-door from Geneva, 30mins from Bern, 1.5hrs from Lausanne, Basel and Zurich. The chalet is both elegant and cosy, with high ceilings, south facing picture windows, an open fire place, wifi, large screen TV, DVD, etc. It is ideal for families with loads of games and a split-level 18m2 children's room. One double bedroom is equipped with a cot. It is ideal for cross-country skiers, people who love to get away from the crowd, those who enjoy varied downhill skiing in top resorts, families with children, and those who appreciate a beautifully kept, unique chalet, in an absolutely top location.

Excursion possibilities: Nature reserve Suld Valley: Starting at the restaurant Pochtenfall you reach the imposing 80 m high waterfall after 20 minutes walk. Apart from easy or demanding walks the valley of Suld offers many possibilities for barbecues, picnics and relaxing in pure nature. Niesen "the swiss pyramid": After a spectacular ride by the funicular train, the view from the top at an altitude of 2362 meters offers a splendid 360° panorama of the imposing Bernese Alps, the lakes Thun and Brienz and to the Bernese lowland. Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe: A highlight of every Swiss journey is an unforgettable day trip to the highest situated railway station of Europe and the alpine wonder world of ice and snow at 3454 meters. Lakes of Thun and Brienz: This beautiful lakes are the heart and the center of the Bernese Oberland. While you enjoy a good meal or a glass of wine on board of a ship while your eyes will rest by glancing at the lovely shores with the splendid historical castels and up to the highest mountain peaks.

Location description: Aeschi (860 m above sea level) and the somewhat higher situated Aeschiried (1000 m) lie on a sunny terrace and offer a wonderful view of the surrounding mountain panorama and of the Lake Thun. The original Peasant village is still marked of farming, folklore and tradition. If you want to escape the everyday hectic, you are just right staying with us. Aeschi offers an intact nature to refuel your batteries. Thanks to the very central situation, all the well known tourist destinations of the Bernese Oberland are very close. Aeschi is easy to reach both by public transport (train to Spiez and bus to Aeschi/Aeschiried) and by car. Apart from two grocery shops there are also a butchery, two bakeries, a cheese shop, two banks, a post office, 2 flower shops and a doctor.
