A holiday home by the North Sea in Denmark affords travellers the opportunity to enjoy the unspoilt landscape of the region's coast. The town of Hirtshals on Vendsyssel-Thy, an island off of the Jutland Peninsula, is the location of the Nordsøen Oceanarium, a large aquarium which is one of the region's most popular attractions. The park is a great place for bird watching and deer can often be seen grazing amongst the ancient dolmens and Viking burial mounds. More recent historic buildings include the World War II bunkers at Hanstholm Fortress, which are home to a museum devoted to the military history of the area.
