Semione is located in the Blenio Valley - the Valle del Sole. It is a picturesque Ticino village with a good grotto and a bar.
It is a good starting point for exploring the unspoilt nature of the valley, enjoying the healthy air and where you are sure to find relaxation and distance from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

In summer, the nearby River Brenno invites you for a refreshing swim. Please observe the safety regulations of the municipality! On the other side of the valley, a ride on the cable car up to Monte Dagro promises cool mountain air. At the top, a breathtaking view and excellent cuisine await you at the Sass Malt mountain restaurant.

Our large garden is planted with flowers, palm trees and fruit trees. Biodiversity and naturalness, which provides food for wild bees and butterflies, are very important to us. Seating areas invite you to linger in comfort. The view sweeps freely over the wooded mountain panorama and the neighbouring agricultural zone. Your cycling tours, hikes and jogging activities start here. Old village paths lead to the pretty church of Santa Maria Assunta or the picturesque ruins of Serravalle Castle.

For our younger guests we have a travel cot, changing unit, high chair, baby seat, rocking horse, stair gate, toilet seat and stool, as well as a swing.
In the neighbouring village of Malvaglia-Rongie, near the Piazza d'Armi, there is a children's playground.

Other sports and leisure activities: In summer, the River Breno, just 300 metres away, is ideal for a refreshing swim. Just a few minutes' walk from the holiday home are three organic farms that sell their produce directly.
In Malvaglia: 2 km away, you will find a Coop, Denner, pharmacy and a butcher's shop as well as a Raiffeisen bank/bankomat. In the Chiesa district there is a bakery that also sells fresh bread on Sunday mornings and the good "Statione" restaurant.
There is a children's playground on the village square in Malvaglia-Rongie. Meret Bissegger: (meretbissegger.ch) offers cookery courses in her villa, which have received a lot of press and TV attention.
In Biasca: 5 km away, offers excellent shopping facilities: Migros MM, Coop Supercenter, Denner, Lidl, Aldi, Manor etc.

Excursion possibilities: "Semione Cantonetto" bus station (200 m), trains from Biasca.
Cable car (Filovia) from the neighbouring village of Malvaglia to Monte Dagro with a beautiful mountain restaurant and wonderful views of the valley.
Visit to the nearby castle ruins of Serravalle in Semione. "Delizio coffee expresso machine" (the first 20 coffee capsules are free). "Delizio capsules" are available from MIGROS in Biasca or "EMOZIONE capsules" from Denner in Malvaglia. 4 ceramic hobs, filter coffee machine, kettle, toaster, raclette and fondue set, chestnut oven, hand mixer, digital scales, cake tins and trays, etc. A large selection of spices, washing-up liquid for the dishwasher and hand washing as well as kitchen towels and paper rolls are available - A second fridge is available in the cellar if required - A high chair is also available for small children. From the kitchen you have direct access to the spacious veranda with a large, beautiful dining table.

Village description: Semione at an altitude of 389 metres, with 320 inhabitants, forms the municipality of Serravalle together with Ludiano and Malvaglia. Above the main road, guests will find the Grotto Canvett on the edge of the chestnut forest, where delicious local specialities are on the menu. The parish church of Santa Maria Assunta with ossuary, mentioned as early as 1207, was restored from 2002-10. In 1606, the small chapel of San Carlo was built slightly above. The ruins of Serravalle Castle, where the Ottonian Emperor Frederick Barbarossa stopped in 1164, are also interesting. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, many villagers emigrated to England, Belgium and France. The emigrants (Marronai, Caffettieri e Cioccolatieri), who were particularly successful in trade and the catering industry, had stately villas built along the cantonal road on their return.you can find detailed information on Wikipedia.

    “Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Für uns als Paar waren es absolute Traumferien und wir waren nicht das letzte Mal dort! Wir liebten die Ruhe und die Naturbelassenheit des Bleniotals. Es ist ein Wanderparadies, abseits des grossen Tourismus. Es gibt am Brenno und auch im nahen Biasca wunderschöne Badestellen, die wir sehr genossen haben. Unseren beiden Jugendlichen war der Ort eher etwas zu ruhig...Positiv: Der wunderschöne Garten! Er ist gepflegt und dennoch völlig natürlich. Ein richtiger Traumgarten mit grossen Birken, einem Feigenbaum, Blumen, Beeren und vielen lauschigen Plätzchen zum Verweilen.Negativ: Nichts”
