There are around 60 mountain lakes in the Salzburg Lungau, such as the Prebersee or the Schlierersee, the Lungau/Katschberg golf club is very close to the town center and for swimming fun you can go to the outdoor pools in Sankt Michael im Lungau, Mariapfarr and Mauterndorf or the BadeInsel adventure pool in Tamsweg.In Sankt Margarethen im Lungau there is the Katschberg-Aineck ski area in particular. This ski area offers 70 kilometers of slopes and 16 lifts. Skiers and snowboarders can look forward to 3 other ski areas in the Salzburg Lungau: the Grosseck-Speiereck, Fanningberg and Obertauern ski areas with a total of over 200 kilometers of slopes.There are enough shops for daily needs and a good selection of restaurants right in the town. The state capital of Salzburg can be reached in around 1.5 hours by car.
