Spend an adventurous holiday with your large family and friends with this 6-bedroom holiday home in Titmaringhausen (Medebach). To enjoy outdoor living, you have a private roofed terrace with a barbecue and a private furnished garden. You can stay here with 12 persons.
This region is a paradise for active holidaymakers. Hiking trails run right in front of and behind the holiday home. It is close to the Winterberg ski area which offers numerous skiing and snowboarding opportunities. You can also go horse riding in the area. The town center and restaurants rest at 200 m if you wish to explore local culture and cuisine. Supermarkets and nightlife pubs are at 8 km. For excursions Atta Cave in Attendorn is ideal.
In the verandah, you can enjoy delicious home-cooked meals. The hours of sunshine can be enjoyed in the garden and evenings can be enjoyed on the terrace. You can play table football in leisure hours. There are a cot and a high chair for the children. Parking is available.
Titmaringhausen is a charming mountain village with approximately 200 inhabitants, no through road, and around the corner from Usseln and Willingen. It exists since 1280. This is somewhat evident in some beautiful old half-timbered houses. See also: Since there is no through road, it is very quiet and safe for children.
Of course you can hike around Titmaringhausen, for instance to Usseln, which is a 5 km hike to the other side of the mountain. On summer days you can take a swim in the outdoor pool there and then walk back. Directly in front and behind the house the trails start. And actually there are hiking trails and mountain bike trails everywhere. And on one of your hikes, cycling tours, or car drives you have a good chance to encounter foxes and deer. The air is full of (big) birds of prey.
DINING OUT
In Titmaringhausen itself, a stone's throw from the house, there are two simple, very affordable restaurants, Kühler Grund and Zur Post. Unfortunately they have irregular business hours.
Other restaurants, in all shapes and sizes, are to be found in Usseln (5 km), Willingen (8 km) and Medebach (10 km). Our favorite restaurant in Usseln is Pizza Pie. That sounds very American, but it is an authentic Italian restaurant. The owner speaks a funny mix of German and Italian. It is tasty and very affordable. We suggest in particular one of their homemade pastas!
SHOPS
Every Tuesdays and Fridays a bakery car comes around in the village. He announces his arrival by honking. The man speaks a little English. On Saturday at the beginning of the afternoon the ‘drinks man’ announces himself in a similar way. He sells beer, schnapps and soft drinks. He can also handle bulk orders.. Then he drives back and forth to get it.
Supermarkets are generally not open on Sundays. Though in Willingen on Sunday several bakeries and small shops are open. The Rewe supermarket is in terms of price / quality a good choice. The branches in Willingen and Usseln have long opening hours: from Mon - Sat 7.00 - 22.00.

The mountains of Willingen are not robust enough to offer many challenging skiing. The area has over 15 kilometers of slopes spread over the colors red and blue. Children and beginners will have fun here. In Willingen and Winterberg are plenty of ski schools, all of whom offer ski lessons for children:
*Ski Jumping: the Mühlenkopfschanze in Willingen is one of the largest ski jumping arenas in the world. Impressive to see!
