This is how holiday rental owners described Side
"Where peace, nature and tourism meet. "
Side is one of the most beautiful and popular seaside resorts on the Turkish Riviera. The ancient center is located on a peninsula on the Mediterranean coast with a history that goes back thousands of years.
The resort is surrounded by beautiful ruins, ...
show more the Temple of Apollo right on the coast and a well-preserved Roman amphitheater, where today still performances are given.
Because of the cultural and historical heritage of Side the local building codes are very strict. The municipality hopes to ensure that the unique character of Side is preserved (for the moment with great success). A walk through the main street of Side takes you to the picturesque harbor filled with boats and quays with restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a meal or a drink.
The long sandy beaches on both sides of the peninsula are among the finest in the entire Turkish coast and make Side one of the most popular holiday destinations. Paragliding, scuba diving, water skiing and all other forms of water sports are available while many might just want to enjoy the warm Mediterranean sun.
Side is located in the center of a beautiful and diverse area where the Taurus Mountains passes into the plain of Pamphylia. The pristine Sorgun Forest to the east of the resort is a nice place for hiking and horseback riding. Two courses will be built alongside the six golf courses in Belek, just 30 minutes from Side in this area. Side will be the center of the wave Antalya in planning a total of 30 tracks spread across the region that will be realized within the next 10 years.
The nearby village has a breathtaking Aspendos Roman theater, where annually during the summer festivals are held with sparkling shows, opera, ballet and musicals. The waterfalls of the Manavgat River is a popular local attraction. Inland in the mountains of the Koprulu Canyon National Park is located one of Turkey’s most popular rafting rivers.
